Alternative Energy Development in Japan

Japan is a densely populated country, and that makes the Japanese market more difficult compared with other markets. If we utilize the possibilities of near-shore installations or even offshore installations in the future, that will give us the possibility of continued use of wind energy. If we go offshore, it’s more expensive because the construction of foundations is expensive. But often the wind is stronger offshore, and that can offset the higher costs. We’re getting more and more competitive with our equipment. The price—if you measure it per kilowatt-hour produced—is going lower, due to the fact that turbines are getting more efficient. So we’re creating increased interest in wind energy. If you compare it to other renewable energy sources, wind is by far the most competitive today. If we’re able to utilize sites close to the sea or at sea with good wind machines, then the price per kilowatt-hour is competitive against other sources of energy, go the words of Svend Sigaard, who happens to be president and CEO of the world’s largest wind turbine maker, Vestas wind systems out of Denmark. Vestas is heavily involved in investments of capital into helping Japan expand its wind turbine power generating capacity. It is seeking to get offshore installations put into place in a nation that it says is ready for the fruits of investment into alternative energy research and development.

The Japanese know that they cannot become subservient to the energy supply dictates of foreign nations—World War II taught them that, as the US decimated their oil supply lines and crippled their military machine. They need to produce energy of their own, and they being an isolated island nation with few natural resources that are conducive to energy production as it is defined now are very open to foreign investment and foreign development as well as the prospect of technological innovation that can make them independent. Allowing corporations such as Vestas to get the nation running on more wind-produced energy is a step in the right direction for the Japanese people.

The production of energy through what is known as microhydoelectric power plants has also been catching on in Japan. Japan has a myriad rivers and mountain streams, and these are ideally suited places for the putting up of microhydroelectric power plants, which are defined by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization as power plants run by water which have a maximum output of 100 kilowatts or less. By comparison, “minihydroelectric” power plants can put out up to 1000 kilowatts of electrical energy.

In Japan, the small-scaled mini- and micro-hydroelectric power plants have been regarded for a considerable time as being suitable for creating electricity in mountainous regions, but they have through refinement come to be regarded as excellent for Japanese cities as well. Kawasaki City Waterworks, Japan Natural Energy Company, and Tokyo Electric Power Company have all been involved in the development of small-scale hydroelectric power plants within Japanese cities.

The Reasons Why Junk Car Removal Is A Good Choice

One of the most recycled consumer products today is our old friend, the automobile.  Junk car removal has been a big industry and there is really no need to hold on to your car if it no longer runs and has become an unsightly lawn ornament.  Junk car removal supports the steel recycling industry since recycled steel requires 74% less energy to produce than manufacturing steel.

Junk car removal should not cost you anything.  Most companies will either take your car away for free or pay you something for it.  You can usually find out how much they will pay you for the car over the phone.  You want to ensure that the quote you get on the phone is also what you get paid when your car is taken away.   Some states do not even require that you have the title to the car in order to recycle it.  In many cases, you can have your car removed even if you do not have keys or wheels.  You just need to contact your local car removal company and see what options you have.

Other than the fact that you will no longer own an eyesore in your yard, you will be doing your part to help the environment by recycling your end of life vehicle.  There really is no need to keep junk cars on your property if they are of no use to you.  Why not contact your local car recycler and have them removed?  You will soon be enjoying a clutter free yard.

Happy New Year!

What Are Your Options To Junk A Car?

If you want to junk a car, what are your options? There are many auto recyclers statewide that will gladly pick your car up and recycle it for you. Some end of life cars are useful for parts for other cars, especially when parts are difficult to find. It should not cost you anything to junk a car; in fact many auto recyclers will pay you. When you junk a car, the parts are often recycled into various things that we use every day. There are so many components that are still useful on junk cars.

What if you want to junk a car but you do not have title papers or keys? In most states this doesn’t matter. You only need to call your local auto recycler and ask them what their criteria are. Recycling cars helps to save the environment and about 65% of an old car is made up of steel. It takes 74% less energy to recycle steel than to manufacture it from scratch, so you can feel good about doing your part to save the environment.

Why not clear up your yard and get rid of those unsightly old cars? Your neighbors and your spouse will love you for it and you will be doing something to help the environment. Letting a car deteriorate in your yard to a rusty pile of metal will only harm the environment, so you should seriously consider recycling it.

Junk Cars Cause Environmental Problems For Everyone

Junk cars take up space in your yard, and they are unsightly. Consider doing something good for yourself and the environment by recycling your junk cars. There are many companies that will remove junk cars, in some cases without paperwork or keys. It varies from state to state. Some companies will even pay you a small amount to take your car away for you. These cars are recycled, many of the parts are reclaimed and in some cases, the parts are stripped and resold to people who have the same type of car and are looking for inexpensive parts. Sometimes the cars go to charitable organizations, so this is also a great way to help your community.

Having an old car in your yard can be an environmental hazard. The longer the car sits, the more chance that it will become rusty and corroded. Eventually, toxic fluids will start to leak from the car and pollute the area around it, even seeping into the ground water below. Protect your environment and have these relics removed from your yard.

It may have some nostalgia for you, but that car is no longer useful, so recycling it is your best possible option. Besides having a cleaner yard, you are doing your part to recycle and keep your environment healthy. It doesn’t matter if you have one car or five, an auto recycler will be happy to remove them for you. You just need to make a call and arrange for pick up.
